Alcatraz represents now one of the main attractions in the city of San Francisco. Hundreds of people around the world want to know more about the history and visit the prison. Alcatraz also known as "The Rock" became a prison from 1934 to 1963 housing between approximately 200-300 prisoners. It was an extreme security prison where some of the country's most famed criminals like Al Capone, George Machine Gun Kelley, Robert Stroud, Alvin "Creepy" Karpis were sent there.

Great post! Alcatraz island is a spooky place, once I went there and you could feel the fear between the walls. Historic and adventurous, a great place to go!
